Located just south of Puerto Aventuras, Cenote Ponderosa (widely known as Jardín del Edén) is a natural masterpiece combining a massive, crystal-clear open basin surrounded by lush jungle with breathtaking cavern passages. Its nickname, "Garden of Eden," truly fits: beneath the surface, moss-covered boulders, hanging roots, and schools of freshwater fish create an underwater setting vibrant with life and sunlight.
Inside the cavern section, divers encounter one of the sharpest and most pronounced haloclines in the region—the visible boundary where fresh and saltwater meet—creating a fascinating liquid-glass visual effect as you navigate through dramatic limestone formations. It offers a wonderfully comfortable, diverse, and scenic dive suitable for all certified divers.
